What: Digital flashcards using a Spaced Repetition System (SRS). I review various card types: basic vocabulary (often with pictures), full sentences I've encountered (for grammar/usage), and cloze deletion cards (fill-in-the-blanks).
Why: The brain is sharpest after sleep, ideal for the demanding task of recall. SRS shows cards just before you'd forget them, forcing stronger memory connections. It's incredibly efficient.
My Method: Organized decks per language: 'Core' (individual vocab from immersion) and 'Output' (sentences to translate into target language). At my peak, I added 50-100 new cards daily, plus all reviews.
Tools: Anki (Desktop), AnkiDroid (Mobile).
Beginner Tip: Start with 10-20 new Anki cards a day. Consistency is far more important than volume initially. Build the habit.
